"Today, many football clubs are subsidised by government budget. As you know, there are different opinions in society about this issue. The Prosecutor General's Office and other controlling bodies have conducted inspections of football clubs. Definetely, there are a lot of questions. I have already said earlier: in average, about 3 billion tenge was allocated annually, but these funds were mostly spent on foreign players and foreign specialists. At the same time, many football clubs have no infrastructure, no academy, no stadium of their own. This is wrong.
Even if a club has a private investor, it has assets. A club can attract investments, other sponsors come. This is a global practice. Today, the most successful clubs are private clubs. Football has long been a business: television, advertising, online platforms - all this brings income, and football has a huge audience. Therefore, if the football clubs operate under private ownership - this is the right step. And Kazakhstan will also follow this path.
Now a list of clubs to be privatised has been drawn up. Among them are ''Astana'', ''Aktobe'' and ''Atyrau''. Currently, potential investors are studying the possibilities: differents programmes that can be implemented, methods of investments. KFF, of course, acts as a party that helps to attract investors," Marat Omarov said.
