The Kazakhstan Football Federation announces the launch of an innovative approach using artificial intelligence technologies in creating a football competition calendar.
A calendar creation event is planned for February 9. Representatives of football clubs will participate in it online. Based on the results of discussions and coordination, the calendar prepared will be submitted for approval by the Executive Committee of the Kazakhstan Football Federation.
The project is being implemented within the framework of the tasks of introducing modern digital solutions and artificial intelligence technologies, stated in the Address to the People of Kazakhstan by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Artificial intelligence will be used in creating the competition calendar of the Kazakhstan Premier League, the First and Second Leagues, as well as women's football tournaments. The solution was developed by domestic specialists, based on the classic Berger table, which eliminates the participation of the human factor and allows taking into account expanded parameters.
The algorithm takes into account a range of sporting and organizational conditions, including stadium availability, weather conditions, clubs’ participation in European competitions, FIFA’s international calendar, home and away match schedules, overall infrastructure load, large city events, as well as security issues and the need for special attention to individual matches.
The use of artificial intelligence allows for the simulation of multiple calendar options, the prediction of the consequences of decisions made, and the prompt implementation of changes. This significantly reduces the number of match postponements during the season.
